Julius Wold and Håkon Næss Sandum both have a master’s degree from NMBU and will work in SmartForest as PhD candidates on the topic:
Use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in forest inventory. Here, they willbe working with the development of machine learning models to generate forest information at local and landscape scales, the development of machine learning models for sustainable forest management as well as the comparison of machine learning with existing methods and evaluate their usefulness.
