SmartForest at NIBIO in Ås is hiring a new PostDoc on AI for traceability and wood quality!
Traceability within the forest value chain will be a key facture for documentation of sustainability as well as future optimization of wood utilization and sustainable value creation. In SmartForest we focus on using enabling technologies for supporting a digitized and sustainable forest management.
We are now looking for a PostDoc to support our work on the development and implementation of AI models and methods that enables individual log traceability and prediction of wood quality properties as a basis for optimizing the overall resource utilization and sustainability of the forest sector.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Developing AI approaches and methods for analyzing image, lidar data and x-ray data for individual logs capture at the saw mill in support of traceability and wood quality measurement and prediction
- Developing AI approaches and methods for analyzing image, lidar data, and photogrammetric data of standing trees in the forest in support of traceability and wood quality measurement and prediction
