Last week, some of our teammates from SmartForest had the pleasure of attending Formec 2025 in Joensuu, Finland.
👏 We want to thank the organizers for a fantastic event—excelling in organization, offering inspiring field trips, including a visit to the Ponsse factory in Vieremä, and providing valuable opportunities to connect and discuss how to harness innovative technologies for sustainable and low-carbon wood supply!
Our team members represented SmartForest with great enthusiasm and expertise:
✔️ Carolin Fischer moderated a session on Precision Forestry for Steep Terrain Harvesting, Wood Quality, and Soil Disturbance Assessment. She also presented on the Performance of a Code-Based Traceability System for the Forest Value Chain.
✔️ Helle Ross Gobakken shared insights on Automating Forest Road Classification to Support Sustainable Forest Management in Norway.
✔️ Simon Berg presented a poster on Using AI to Detect Work Elements in Videos.
